The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on a planet in crisis, and spurred the emergence of the next generation of passionate leaders eager to explore our world and advocate for a healthier future.

The Trebek Initiative, named to honour the Society’s late Honorary President Alex Trebek will support emerging Canadian explorers, scientists, photographers, geographers and educators. The fund will award between 10 and 30 grants annually, each between $15,000 and $40,000. It was made possible through the generosity of 15 passionate Canadian families.
