Jumbo Koi

Having jumbo koi in your koi pond is highly sought after, and they are amazing to own. They look like giant submarines cruising around your pond.
Jumbo koi are generally friendly fish as they have very large appetites and are constantly looking for something to eat. If you go close to them they will swim up to the surface to greet you and ask for a snack. They are open to trying new foods and like lettuce, brown bread, oranges, prawns and silkworms. And if you place your hands in your pond they will often suck on your fingers and toes.
Jumbo koi are expensive to buy, thanks in part to the high transport charges in getting fish of this size from overseas. An alternative is to grow your own, and we have gathered some tips on how to super size your koi.
Unfortunately, you can’t influence the genetic make up of your koi, but you can enhance their growth by managing their diet and environment.
