Interior Designer Shabnam Alam Has Fused Two Diverse Styles to Design Hatim Mughal’s Abode in Kolkata.
When Hatim Mughal zeroed down on Interior Designer Shabnam Alam, principal designer of Design Studio, to design his 6,000 sq. ft. apartment, he had not envisioned that the end result would be this awe-inspiring home. The owner, Hatim Mughal, is into manufacturing Mica tapes, and he wanted the plush home to reflect his status.
Perfect space planning is one of the highlights of this home. Shabnam has divided the home into three living areas, four bedrooms, a recreational area, a kitchen along with a utility area, five toilets and a balcony. The home is a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional styles.
Explaining her design concept, Shabnam adds, “Initially, they were five separate apartments, which were combined into one spacious home. We had a herculean challenge in handling the plumbing layouts and not-so-convenient bedroom shapes, but we skilfully managed everything.”
