Buyer's Guide To Indoor Flooring

Today, the floor has emerged as an important protagonist in the design drama for our homes, and plenty of versatile options, from the most expensive and ornate to basic comfort materials, are available in the market. In fact, when it comes to flooring choices, we can safely say that ‘the sky is the limit’!

To end the seemingly eternal conundrum about floor designing, we have outlined a few interesting options that should stand you in good stead. Choose wisely, as per the climate of your station, the limitations of the materials, and budgetary restrictions, and you will be in the clear for a long time…

Bamboo and cork

Let’s start with the ones that have the most eco-friendly tag to them — cork and bamboo. Attractive, budget-friendly and low-maintenance, these two rate high on floor choices. Various treatments to the basic cork and bamboo can render them the colour of your preference. However, do be warned that colouring treatments, such as carbonisation and caramelisation, can reduce their durability.

Bamboo is not wood, but a fast growing grass, and is ready for harvest every three-five years. When compared to trees harvested for hardwood, which take decades to mature, bamboo shines in a whole new light.
