Mussoorie’s most renowned resident Ruskin Bond once said, “It is always the same with mountains. Once you’ve lived with them for any length of time, you belong to them. There is no escape.” That is the first thought that popped in our minds when we viewed this cozy cottage in Mussoorie by Aditi Sharma and her namesake design studio.

Rustic interiors with modern fittings and tactile elements make this 1,200 sq ft space paradisaical. The welcoming abode is envisioned as a getaway for the homeowners, who were called to action to commission its new avatar during the pandemic. Aditi reveals, “They wanted to renovate the home to make the most of the views of the surrounding hillside landscape. The motivation was to have a home away from home as well as a peaceful #WFH environment. To make this happen, we broke away from stereotypical hill-cottage designs and infused a sense of spaciousness through modern, minimal, and functional design elements.”
