Why Designers Love Deep Greens

Anything goes ‘Green sits right at the centre of the colour spectrum and works with every other colour and material you pair it with. Try it yourself – place a green plant in any room and in front of any colour you like and it will never look out of place.’ Marianne Shillingford, creative director at Dulux

Duck Green estate eggshell, £64 for 2.5ltr, Farrow & Ball, is a similar wall colour. Speckled blush bowl, £70 for six, Cox & Cox. Palm tree print, £79 for set of two framed; hand blown Green bottle vase, £45, both Graham and Green

Easy mixing

‘There are so many greens and some have little in common. When combining different shades, stick to using either yellow-based or blue-based greens. Otherwise, you’ll have a very uncomfortable scheme. The closer together the greens are, the better.’ Annie Sloan, colour expert
