We’ve heard it time and time again: location is everything when you’re buying a property. Better to find your dream spot and work with what is there, than a pretty house in a neighbourhood you don’t love. There are many considerations dependent on your lifestyle: is the home near a good school, what are the transport links like, are there green spaces nearby? Equally important to consider, though, is your social life once you’re in this fantastic new home. If you find yourself somewhere with great cornicing and ceiling roses aplenty, but there’s nothing to do nearby – what’s the point? That being said, perhaps you should consider homes in prime positions for fun. Some ‘attractions’ can even boost the resale value of your property. For example, being situated near a golf course is thought to be linked with maintaining higher property values.
