From directing and designing for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs when he was four, to being one of the most renowned designers India has ever produced, Sabyasachi Mukherjee has come a long way. Internships with Jean Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaia have helped him understand the industry and get an exclusive insight. “My first design was a black trapeze velvet dress for my sister. The hemline was awful as I couldn’t cut it right but it looked beautiful,” says Sabyasachi. It was inspired by the character played by Ali MacGraw who had worn this while playing Jennifer Cavalleri in the movie Love Story by Eric Segal.
