Cherry-Picking Gins

With so many gins on the market, it can be difficult to find something unusual.

Enter: Die Soet Rooinek Cherry Gin from the De Vry Distillery. This seasonal gin is made with succulent cherries that were harvested in the beautiful Ceres Valley. Hand-picked and gently crushed, the cherries are macerated in De Vry Distillery’s dry gin before being filtered and bottled. 

“I grew up on a small farm in the south of Joburg,” says Klein Constantia winemaker, Matthew Day. “My love for wine, passion for the outdoors and farming all led to me becoming a winemaker. My lovely wife, Cath, and I have an 18-month-old daughter, Rose. We also have two dachshunds, Mango and Litchi.”
