Artisanal Luxury
Better Interiors
|August 2019
Sanjyt Syngh Design Studio uses customised art installations, handpicked objets d’art and bespoke detailing to create a rich spatial experience in a spacious 16,000-square-foot office in Mumbai.
Arty. Bespoke. Chic. The list of positive qualifiers for this 16,000-square-foot office in BKC, Mumbai, can easily be as long as the English alphabet. And why not. The intent was to create something “non-typical and luxurious” to begin with. “When we first saw it, it was this vast expanse of concrete,” reveals Sanjyt Syngh who helms Sanjyt Syngh Interior Design (SSID, which executes turnkey projects) and Sanjyt Syngh Design Studio (SSDS, a design consultancy), both of which were involved in this assignment. “There were four units that had to be integrated into one cohesive space. Our design concept was inspired by infusing this sterile space with elements of artisanal luxury. I had designed a couple of projects for the client before taking on this project. So I believe there was some level of comfort and expectation in terms of deliverables.”
