A Retreat In The Sky
Better Interiors
|October 2017
Facets of the client’s young and energetic personality are echoed in this stylish, 5,000 square feet lounge-like penthouse in Pune, designed by Mumbai-based Atelier Design N Domain.

People aspire to live in larger spaces — from a 1BHK to a 2BHK, a 3BHK to a duplex apartment, a sprawling flat to a villa. But the process was reversed in this particular case, when one of Pune’s reputed real-estate developers — and a bungalow-dweller — decided to shift to a penthouse apartment in a premium high-rise in the city’s much sought-after Koregaon Park area.
The design firm selected for making this migration a palatable one was Mumbai-based Atelier Design N Domain, headed by two partners: architects Shobhan Kothari and Anand Menon. The latter, who helmed this particular project recalls that the client, who approached them after being impressed by their work for an upscale residence in Pune, wanted something that would reflect his personality. “Young and energetic by nature, he was seeking a place to rewind at the end of a hectic workday schedule and de-stress with friends and family informally… a sky-retreat!”
