MATERIALS

• Medium (worsted) weight yarn:

12 [14] oz/600 [700] yds/ 340 [397]g each gray and white

• Size K/101/2/6.5mm double-ended crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Size I/9/5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

• Stitch markers

GAUGE

Double-ended hook: 7 sts = 2 inches, 12 pattern rows = 23/4inches

PATTERN NOTES

To pull up lp, insert hook in vertical bar, yo, pull lp through leaving lp on hook.

When picking up lps, leave all lps on hook unless otherwise stated.

To turn, rotate hook 180 degrees and slide all lps to the opposite end. Do not turn unless otherwise stated.

To work lps off-hook when adding a new color, with new color, place slip knot on hook, pull slip knot through the first lp on hook, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across.

To work lps off with color already in use, pick up color from row below, yo, pull through 1 lp on hook, [yo, pull through 2 lps on hook] across.

You will always have 1 lp left on your hook at the end after working lps off; this will be the first st of the next row.

SPECIAL STITCHES
