Observing Guru Poornima
Yoga and Total Health
|July 2021
How do we look at Guru Poornima?
Some observe Guru Poornima as “Teacher’s Day”, as a day of festivity. Some make it a day to express reverence towards the Guru. Some even see a deeper significance here, that of upholding the sacred teaching traditions of yore. The teacher is not just the human being in front of the students in a particular form, but the teacher symbolizes the tradition of teacher-ship and student-ship enshrining a very intimate relationship between the two down the ages.
