The Most Meaningful Gift You Could Give
PRIME Magazine
|December 2018 - January 2019
Year end is everyone’s favourite holiday and shopping season but finding that perfect gift can be challenging. Should it be perfume or a spa break? The latest bestseller novel or a romantic weekend in Bali? From learning holidays to glamping and pampering, a travel gift can be most refreshing and different. So for this holiday season, instead of buying your loved one a gadget, consider giving a getaway.
Rather than buying sneakers, spring for an escape. Trips rather than things, can bring lifelong memories from the myriad of experiences that one encounters on a journey - making the gift of travel one of the most meaningful ones that you can give, but, of course, it can be the most complicated to organize and package. Where to begin? Here are some tips to help you get it right and some ideas to inspire you to create that unforgettable getaway gift.
Before you begin your search for that perfect trip, do consider the following about the giftee: do they prefer to travel alone or with a group of like-minded friends? Does he or she like to travel trouble-free from home to holiday spot and back? How long a trip can their schedule accommodate? What sort of weather do they enjoy the most? Do they already own the right wardrobe and gear/accessories for that holiday? Are they physically fit or do they need special care such as dietary needs and medical assistance? Do they travel light or with a ton of luggage?
In addition to the above logistics, there are also personal preferences to uncover. Does he or she have interests and hobbies that can be further enhanced with a trip e.g love for music, history, art, antiques, sports, nature, architecture and, of course, the all-time favourites of culinary and commercial pastimes i.e. eating and shopping or are they incessantly curious individuals who love new experiences encompassing some or all of the aforementioned?

LIGHT THERAPY CAN PREVENT DRY EYE AFTER CATARACT SURGERY
A new study published in Ophthalmology and Therapy has found that the administration of low-level light therapy before and after cataract surgery relieved symptoms of dry eye, a frequent complication of the procedure. This noninvasive treatment also enhanced the stability of the tear film and reduced the osmolarity of tear fluid, supporting its incorporation into routine perioperative care for patients undergoing cataract surgery.
