Top British model Ricki Hall is using fitness to overcome addiction.
Ricki Hall is one of Britain’s leading male models. His distinct, tattooed look has represented brands such as Paul Smith, Diesel, and Lyle & Scott. He has modelled at fashion weeks in London and Milan, worked with David Beckham and dated Kelly Osbourne. But longterm alcohol addiction threatened to ruin his life until a 12-week body transformation programme helped him find salvation.
Muscle&Fitness: Why did you get into fitness?
Ricki Hall: Basically, I’ve been using the gym as my sort of therapy. I’ve been battling a massive drinking problem for the last 12 years. I’ve been in and out of rehabs, therapies, and meetings of all sorts to help fix my disease. They all failed, until I found the gym.
Why was gym therapy more successful?
Because I was in control. I could lift as little or as much or as long as I wanted to. I finally felt I was in charge and calling the shots. This was when I met James, my personal trainer at FE Gym in Whitechapel.
Why have his methods worked?
