Digital Technology: Boon Or A Bane?
-
Human beings have evolved from primates to become one of the few highly intellectual creations today. From eating roots and raw meat, we have progressed into more sophisticated living, like depending on smart and robotic technology to help us in daily activities. They have made our lives easy, but they come with a high cost.
We have grown dependent on mobile phones and internet so much that, it has become a necessity. They control our lives in and out. One end, it gives us best services like digital banking, access to any information any time, exposure into a new world, current news and on the other end, it has taken away “WE TIME” from our lives. Kids don’t play in playgrounds or streets anymore but instead, stick to video games, adults have almost stopped interacting with people in a physical distance but are taken away by social media. We need to understand that – “Human beings are social animals and can’t live in isolation.” Thus, it is important to stay connected with people around. Today, we have more friends on social media and hardly know our neighbors!!! It isn’t bad to enjoy these “in trend” or “modern” sources, but we need to limit ourselves. Let’s remember – “even the sky has a limit.”
