Building Resilience In Children

Resilience can be described as positive adaptation despite adversity. It refers to the ability to adapt to stress and adversity. Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats or significant sources of stress, such as Family and Relationship problems, Serious Health problems, or Workplace and Financial stressors. Resilience means bouncing back from difficult experiences. In recent years, due to its influence on health, wellbeing and quality of life, resilience has become a major focus of interest for academic researchers and practitioners working in the area of mental health and wellbeing. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have. It involves behaviours, thoughts and actions that can be learned and developed in anyone. Developing resilience among adolescents has become a major concern today. There are certain factors that make someone resilient such as Positive attitude, Optimism, Ability to regulate emotions, and Ability to see failure as a form of helpful feedback.
