Supreme court of India has asked all online portals, to spread awareness about Blue Whale. supreme court is consulting many advocates to ban this online game, as this has motivated for suicides. More than 100 lives have been succumbed. Blue whale game/challenge is accessed through portals like facebook, Twitter and Instrgram, where users search for an administrator. Indian govt. has requested internet companies like Google, Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, Microsoft and Yahoo to immediately remove links to this game, from their platforms.
In India the first case of death, due to Blue Whale dare was reported on 1-8-2017, When a 14 year old boy from Mumbai, jumped off the terrace of his Andheri residence, as the final task of challenge. In Hubli a high school student’s activities were observed and it was confirmed that he was attracted towards this game. In Madhurai a teen committed suicide. 3000 kms away, another teen in Assam landed in hospital bed, with injuries on his arm. A 17 year old girl from India, was so desperate, to die. she tried to kill herself twice, in just 2 days. she was recovering from injuries, sustained while jumping in to a lake, When she took a near fatal drug overdose at home. curious to know, what this sinister game is, so many teens got gripped world wide. The game apparently coaxes vulnerable teens, to take a series of 50 challenges ranging from walking at hours to self mutilation, to eventually killing themselves, all the while sharing their experiences via social media, with the administrators.
