Most of us will face numerous challenges in our lives. Some will be minor, while others may be more significant. Thankfully, with some grit and determination, most of these challenges can be overcome, and few of us will ever experience the type of devastating event that forever changes the trajectory our lives. That wasn’t the case for Christa Calitz, though, who, at the age of 17, with her entire life ahead of her and her many hopes and dreams, was faced with the real prospect of losing a leg.
