You know how sometimes your mind is already on that beach in Cote d’Azur, sipping on a piña colada, even two days before your vacation begins. Something similar happens on the day you sign up at the gym. As the instructor gives you a tour that is mostly a dispirited inventory run through - “8 treadmills, 5 cycles, weight section, machine section, steamsonajakujji, tubelight...” - your brain manufactures modelling portfolios with your head photoshopped on the bodies, of the fittest guys around. It will never happen. Not because you aren’t hardworking, committed or are genetically related to Jayalalithaa. But because your fantasy blinds you from noticing these annoying things that will put you off from wanting to hit the gym.
