Adah Sharma is ‘Commando’ing her way back to Bollywood.
Adah Sharma is coming back home to where she started out many years ago with a marquee performance in the hit Bollywood horror flick, 1920. She then took a detour to the south, making it big there, particularly in Telugu films. With Commando 2, which released this month, it's been a homecoming of sorts for this sultry talent pot. For this Tamilian (don’t be fooled by the Sharma surname) born in Kerala, grew up in Mumbai and studied belly dancing in the US, the world is her oyster.
“I feel truly at home when I’m enjoying myself,” Adah says, “the place doesn’t matter…it’s a state of mind.” She points out how her first Telugu film Heart Attack had an almost two-month schedule in Spain. “(There) the beaches became my home. I usually adapt very easily to a place. The colder the better!” Malaysia, where she shot her latest, Commando 2, was not. “It felt like 50 degrees. I got to work with such an amazing team that the heat didn’t get in the way.”
