Hermès continues to be the purveyor of artisanal leather in 2023. Sales have soared for the luxury label since the start of the year, with reports indicating that revenues had increased by 22 per cent, amounting to €3.4 billion from January to March. From the material world to the metaverse, the wins keep rolling in for the French Maison who won a landmark lawsuit against Mason Rothschild for selling the MetaBirkins NFT (non-fungible token) in February. A jury ultimately ruled that Rothschild committed intellectual property infringement by trading NFTs of the iconic bag.
