The 28-Day Menstrual Cycle Is A Myth

It is one of those health ‘facts’ that we have all come to take as gospel over the years, but in reality, while there are some of us out there who get their period precisely every 28 days, for the vast majority? Not so much.

Only 13 percent of those with female reproductive systems have a precise fourweek cycle, according to data published in npj Digital Medicine, an online open-access journal. And guess what else? Nearly 20 percent have a 30-day-or-longer cycle, meaning some months, they don’t get a period at all.
