Publicly humiliated by a co-star, the furious Project host walks out on Ten.

It was supposed to be a celebration for The Project family, but former Today star Lisa Wilkinson was left feeling more like an “unwanted stepchild” and walked out of Ten “in a huff” before snubbing the show’s 10th birthday party.

“Lisa was mortified,” confirms one Ten insider, who says the TV star is “very sensitive” about her public image and struggling with her growing awareness of just how much on the outer she is with her co-stars.

“There’s been a level of resentment for months about her role, because she really isn’t a team player, and I think that sentiment boiled over on the night. There was a lot of love for Carrie, not so much for Lisa.”

Lisa, 59, left The Project set “in a huff” just 30 minutes into a special 90-minute edition of the show, which was celebrating its 10th anniversary. She was not seen at the afterparty seemingly because of an innocent comment by fellow panellist and comedian Peter Helliar.
