The wait is almost over. Our screens have not been lit up by EastEnders in months, but on Monday 7 September at 8 pm it’s back!

An insider has revealed there will be a ‘jump’ in the timeline, which means the soap won’t pick up where it left off. Instead, Walford, like the rest of the UK, will have gone through lockdown. So what will the locals be up to?

When the final duff-duffs sounded on the last episode in June, Phil Mitchell’s jaw clenched as Sharon revealed she’d bought The Vic out from under him.

It was sweet revenge for Sharon, who’d been thrown out of her home by Phil for choosing her love-child baby, Kayden, over a rekindled future running the pub with Phil.
