How British-raised Mohammed Emwazi became Islamic State killer ‘Jihadi John’

- Ian Macewan

The Face Of Terror

How did a shy northwest London schoolboy grow up to be one of the most notorious terrorists of modern times? C4’s The Hunt for Jihadi John tells the story of Mohammed Emwazi – aka ‘Jihadi John’, the Islamic State extremist who gained notoriety for executing hostages in shocking online videos during the war in Syria.

With testimony from his teachers, as well as military personnel and families of victims and hostages who survived, the film also recounts the operation to locate and kill Emwazi.

Born in Kuwait, Emwazi moved to London aged six in 1994, and is remembered by his teachers as a shy boy who liked computers and dreamed of playing football for Manchester United.
