Marking the 40th anniversary of the release of her first album, this four-part documentary series tells the remarkable story of pop icon Janet Jackson’s life and career, with contributions from family, friends and a host of celebrity fans including Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey and Whoopi Goldberg.

Co-produced by Jackson and her sibling Randy, the series sees the 55-year-old returning to her home town of Gary, Indiana, where she recalls growing up in a family that included the Jackson Five and future king of pop Michael Jackson.

The youngest of 10 children, Jackson initially did not have any musical ambitions, she reveals.
