The devastating impact of a geomagnetic storm hitting the UK may be at the heart of Sky One’s taut thriller COBRA, but one of the drama’s most intriguing aspects is the political scheming of Home Secretary Archie GloverMorgan, played by David Haig.

As stressed Prime Minister Robert Sutherland (Robert Carlyle) attempts to deal with the widespread chaos now that power has been wiped out, Archie spends his time making inappropriate quips and trying to gauge whether the crisis can be turned to his advantage.
