NEW SUPERHERO DRAMA

Loki

From Wednesday 9 June, six episodes (released weekly), Disney+

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, characters have the room to grow and evolve over the course of multiple films – and that’s not only true of the heroes.

After appearing as the antagonist in the 2011 movie Thor, Loki – the Norse God of Mischief and Thor’s adoptive brother, played by Tom Hiddleston – went on to become the big bad of 2012’s Avengers Assemble. Fans were charmed by the slippery trickster, and Loki became one of the franchise’s most popular figures.

He even proved to have hidden depths, helping the heroes out more than once (even if his actions weren’t exactly selfless) before dying a hero’s death trying to stop Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.

FRESH START

Fittingly for a character who has cheated death more than once, that still wasn’t the end of the story, and now Loki returns in a six-part series on Disney+ which explores the outcome of the scene in Avengers: Endgame where, in an alternative-reality version of 2012, Loki escapes with the powerful Tesseract…
