The brilliant, award-winning political drama House of Cards returns for its sixth and final season this week with one major talking point the absence of Kevin Spacey, who was fired from his role as murderous exUS President Frank Underwood following allegations of sexual misconduct.

Spacey’s sacking means that Robin Wright, who plays Frank’s equally ruthless wife, Claire, takes centre stage – especially after season five ended with Frank resigning from the Oval Office and handing power to Claire, who emerged from her husband’s shadow as the first female President.
