Amid the dreaming spires and clandestine colleges of Oxford University, all sorts of creatures are lurking in the shadows, including witches, vampires and daemons.

That’s according to the hugely popular All Souls trilogy of novels, written by Deborah Harkness, which have now been adapted for this hotly anticipated new Sky One series, A Discovery of Witches.

Diana Bishop, played by Australian actress Teresa Palmer, is a gifted academic who would love nothing more than to focus on her career as a researcher into alchemical science. The one snag is, she’s a witch, and although she tries to resist her powers, she is taken over by a force much greater than her.
