Tom Rosenthal and Ryan Sampson return with a new pal and a new business venture for a fourth series of hilarity

Fans of Plebs will be glad to hear that the Ancient Rome comedy is back this week for a fourth series following the misadventures of pals Stylax, Marcus and Grumio – except that isn’t quite the case.
With actor Joel Fry, who plays Stylax, deciding to leave the show, his character is written out in dramatic fashion in the first episode (we’re not at liberty to reveal how he exits, but it’s memorable). He’s quickly replaced by Jonathan Pointing, who fits into the group seamlessly as happy-go-lucky Jason.
‘Obviously some fans are going to miss Joel as Stylax, but I suspect people will really warm to Jason. He’s an annoyingly likeable guy and Jonathan’s an amazing actor,’ says Tom Rosenthal, who plays Marcus.
