A group of vigilantes take on a team of evil superheroes in comic-book drama The Boys
-

From protecting the public to saving the world, we all know that superheroes are meant to be the good guys. But in new Amazon Prime Video series The Boys, we’re about to see them in a very different light.
Based on the comic books by Garth Ennis, the eight-parter centres on The Seven, a group of superheroes who enjoy worldwide adulation and a celebrity lifestyle – but who secretly lead a double life of greed, corruption and murder.
The undisputed star of The Seven is Homelander (Antony Starr), a classic all-American caped crusader, but his hunky good looks hide a heart of stone. Also in the ranks is The Deep (Chace Crawford), an abusive aquaman who immediately makes life a misery for idealistic new recruit Starlight (Erin Moriarty).
‘The Deep is pretty jealous of Homelander and wants to be the No.1 guy, but he’s also afraid of him,’ says Crawford. ‘Homelander is so powerful and has got a temper. There’s always this psychosis brewing beneath the surface.’
