After starring in recent TV series Collateral, Trauma and Strangers, John Simm admits he was looking for a new challenge when he took on the role of a sinister politician in BritBox’s thriller Cold Courage.

‘There was a point a couple of years ago when I was on the BBC and ITV at the same time, and that was a bit much,’ explains Simm. ‘I thought it would be nice to step away from that for a little bit and do something I haven’t done. Cold Courage is an international show and that appealed to me.’
