Acclaimed screenwriter David Simon changed the face of television with his groundbreaking crime show The Wire, which ran for five seasons between 2002 and 2008 and made stars of Idris Elba and Dominic West.

This week, Simon and his long-term collaborator, George Pelecanos, return to the mean streets of Baltimore with a new six-part Sky Atlantic series, We Own This City.

Based on Justin Fenton's 2021 non-fiction book of the same name, the drama tells the true story of the rise and fall of the Baltimore Police Department's infamous Gun Trace Task Force and the corruption that surrounded it.
