It may be true that, in space, no one can hear you scream, but the same isn’t necessarily true of new radio-play Alien: River Of Pain. “It’s dark, suspenseful and gripping, and there are scary monsters so, in that regard, it reflects elements of many of the Alien films,” says director Dirk Maggs, who has adapted Christopher Golden’s same-named Xeno-prequel into an eight-part audio series.

The play comes after Maggs’s 2016 adap of
