For actor Whoopi Goldberg, it seems to be awards, nominations and accolades – dating back to her 1985 feature debut, The Color Purple, for which she won a Golden Globe and was also up for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Now the self-confessed sci-fi fan returns in the new adaptation of Stephen King’s postapocalyptic classic The Stand.
