The Flash star plays a (dead) coder in Amazon’s Upload

Back in 2017, when actor Robbie Amell first auditioned for writer Greg Daniels’s latest comedy series Upload, no one had a clue how timely it would end up being. Set in the 2030s, this sweet yet cynical comedy revolves around Amell’s seemingly golden boy, Nathan. He’s got looks, a model gorgeous girlfriend, and a tech IP that’s on the cusp of huge things.
Then he dies in a car accident. Nathan’s consciousness is uploaded into a cloud, allowing him to stay tethered to his old life – for a price. Via his experiences and his bond with his concierge, Nora (Andy Allo), he quickly discovers that digital eternity isn’t what he expected…
You’ve done comedy before, so how was it coming back to a lighter show after a run of dramas?
I’ve always loved doing comedy. I really enjoyed doing True Jackson, VP. After that, I got into some dramatic stuff and some sci-fi stuff, but then I did [sitcom] 1600 Penn. [Star] Josh Gad was so amazing. And I’m very lucky to have worked with some really funny people. I got to watch Eugene Levy and Bonnie Hunt and Steve Martin work.
Did you know Greg Daniels from his hits such as King Of The Hill and The Office US?

STRANGE JOURNEY THE STORY OF ROCKY HORROR
“I loved every minute of it,” says Tim Curry of filming The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1974. Barry Bostwick has another take: “I was wet and miserable most of the time.” The one thing they do agree on, however, is that the result was a milestone in cinema history.
