01. He was born as Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger in Thal, Austria on 30 July 1947 to Gustav Schwarzenegger and Aurelia, both local police chiefs.
02. His father voluntarily joined Nazy Party in 1938 and served Germany in World War II. He was discharged from the army in 1943 as he contracted malaria.
03. Arnold’s family wasn’t well off and he recalled that one of the highlights of his youth was when his family bought a refrigerator.
04. Arnold Schwarzenegger first picked up a barbell at the age of 13 and chose bodybuilding as a career at the age of 14. He was so dedicated that he would break into his local gym at the weekend, when it was closed, in order to train.
05. He temporarily deserted the Austrian Army so he could compete in the Junior Mr.Europe contest. He won.
