AS I LOOK out my window on a cold and grey day, rugged up and fighting flu, I can’t help but be taken by the subtle beauty of our county’s natural heritage.

So many of our London friends ask: “Why Norfolk? It’s so flat.” Yet really it is anything other than flat; well, apart from the Broads. Norfolk never ceases to spring a surprise upon me. Turning a corner on a country road, suddenly, there is a vast landscape spread out that is quintessentially England. It really is beautiful and spectacular.

So many of the artists both from this region, or visitors, have commented on the Norfolk skies. The broad expanse of sky is massive. Yet there is so much more here that touches us, even in just going about our day-to-day lives.
