Cheese Across The Channel

BREXIT dominated the headlines, as well as the minds of farmers everywhere, throughout 2017 and it looks as if that won’t change in 2018. But while the arguments fly about the shape of our future trade with the EU after we leave, there is one enterprising English food producer who is forging ahead with a bit of entente cordiale of their own.

For centuries cheese-lovers in this country have heaped praise on the French for the quality, variety and sheer tastiness of their products. Camembert, Brie, Roquefort, Emmental, Munster, Mimolette and many others have been favourites on the cheeseboards of the British. But in the past few years the popularity of artisan cheese made in the UK has been growing steadily.
