As a chaplain, I am part of the overall pastoral provision of the school, and it is a privilege to work alongside my colleagues as we seek the best possible welfare for the young people in our care. I am chaplain to every individual in the school community, whatever their background, age or faith position.
I am there to support and value pupils, and to be a fixed point in the midst of all the complexities and excitement of school and teenage life. People often ask: “What does a chaplain actually do?” and I find that “I chat to people” is usually the most straightforward answer!
