Three—IV, VI, and VIII—were Ramses III’s sons. Three—V, VII, and IX— were his grandsons. His exact relationship to Ramses X and Ramses XI is uncertain. What is definite is that during the nearly 100 years that his namesakes ruled Egypt, the country grew increasingly weaker.
