All around North America, kids and adults are looking for ladybugs. When they find a ladybug, they take its picture. Then they send the picture to scientists. Why? For the Lost Ladybug Project.

Lost Ladybugs?

There are thousands of different kinds of ladybugs. Some have many spots; others have just a few. They can be big or small, round or oval-shaped, and any color from red to orange to yellow to cream.

The ladybugs the scientists are looking for are very hard to find. One kind is called the nine-spotted ladybug. It has—you guessed it!—nine spots on its back.
