The Class VIII students have been given an assignment by their science teacher — they are to interview the famous botanist, Dr. George Sebastian, for an article to be published in their school magazine.

When they telephone the scientist for an appointment, he promptly invites them to his residence, which is within walking distance from their school.
On reaching the spot, the students find him waiting for them at the gate. He leads them through the vast grounds, showing them numerous trees and plants he has planted, and explaining about each. The students busily take notes.
