10 Mistakes You Don't Want To Make

New moms worry. Period. After all, the little angel you’re suddenly responsible for doesn’t come with a dos-and-don’ts manual. You receive unsolicited advice from your grandmother, mother, a distant relative, and even your old neighbour. As a cautious mother that you are, you end up considering most suggestions. Problems are still not at bay. Here are 10 mistakes you may be committing while caring for your infant’s skin.

Doing too much

Dryness just doesn’t seem to leave your baby alone. Moisturize her delicate skin but do so sparingly. Smart advertising and attractive packaging of various brands nowadays are enough to tempt parents to buy various lotions. However, exposing Baby to too many products regularly can lead to rashes. A newborn’s thin epidermis can easily be irritated by allergens present in over-the-counter solutions. Dr. Madhuri Kadam, paediatrician, SRV Hospital, Mumbai, warns, “It is important to know that consumer products—even the ones meant for babies—are not all regulated by the FDA. Many are packed with toxins that can be absorbed into your baby’s tissue-like skin.” Go old fashioned and nourish the skin with almond oil and olive oil.
