Since tying the knot with Meghan Markle in 2018, Prince Harry has given up a lot – including his military patronages and the relationship with his family – to start again in the US. While he’s made significant changes, they are sacrifices the prince was happy to make to ensure he didn’t have to go through life without anyone beside him.

Despite Harry’s status as one of the world’s most eligible bachelors before meeting Meghan, his path to finding The One has never been easy. While the former Army pilot, 37, dated a succession of beautiful blonde socialites before the Suits star, 40, came along, none had the mettle to even contemplate taking on his lifestyle until Meghan.

Harry’s first love, Chelsy Davy, left him broken-hearted in 2011 after she was given her first taste of life as a royal. The AYA jewellery brand founder, 36, dumped the prince after she accompanied him to the wedding of his older brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 39.

“Harry invited [Chelsy] to William and Kate’s wedding and it was the nail in the coffin of their relationship,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Closer magazine. “I don’t think it was because she didn’t love Harry – but this life of a prince, under the spotlight – was not a life she wanted,” she adds.
