He’s had more than his fair share of heartache over the years. But Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is putting his painful past behind him (see breakout) as he prepares to wed his long-term love, Alexandra Grant.

The Matrix actor, 56, proposed to his artist girlfriend, 48, over dinner at trendy Los Angeles eatery Spago last month. “They were enjoying a lovely little dinner when he popped the question over champagne,” an insider told US OK! magazine.

The source revealed the action star wasn’t afraid to show off his softer side during the big moment either. “Keanu organised everything from the reservation to getting their favourite table, and he even recited a poem he had written especially for Alexandra. It’s clear he put a lot of effort into everything. It was incredibly romantic,” the insider said.

While Reeves’ reps are yet to officially confirm the actor is set to wed, the source says the couple aren’t wasting any time planning their dream nuptials. But just like the low-key pair themselves, their wedding isn’t expected to be an extravagant affair but rather a quiet ceremony where Reeves and Grant plan to surprise those who are dearest to them.
