Joe Novak, 1981-83, 1988 Born made his daytime debut in the New York City-set sudser, where his character, mobaffiliated Joe, made an enemy of Jack Fenelli, but fell in love with and married Siobhan Ryan.

Mark Bailey, 1984 On this prime-time soap, Born portrayed Mark Bailey, a reporter with more than a professional interest in Racine, played by Morgan Fairchild.

In the mid-1980s, Born’s Mitch shook up Llanview by manipulating ex-girlfriend Tina and forming a religious cult before being presumed dead at Dorian’s hands. He returned in the 2000s to cause yet more trouble for Viki and her kin. “I love this part more than any other part I’ve ever played because he’s just a really exciting character and he’s so proactive,” he told Digest in 2010. “Mitch is an action verb.”
