I have always failed to understand the connection engineers share with acting. Many of them, who set the screen ablaze, have dropped out from engineering to explore the world of glitz and glamour, and SUSHANT SINGH RAJPUT is no exception. But he is an exception for the way he never set boundaries to his canvas, and let all the colours fill in, making his life a beautiful painting.

Sundays are generally meant for relaxing and enjoying ‘me’ time, but for me, that Sunday was quite unusual. I found myself watching MS Dhoni: The Untold Story for the second time, since I was meeting this new star on the block for a conversation. But I had a weird feeling, if the meeting would happen as per the way I planned it to be, because of the limited time he had in the city. Finally the meeting happened late in the afternoon at the Maddock Films’ office. Sushant surprised me when he chose to sit in the veranda rather than the airconditioned room I sat in. By now, I had reached the conclusion that Sushant was still quite down-to earth and even after his latest film doing so well, he didn’t let stardom take over his sanity. We spoke about everything beyond and in-between stardom, and that hour passed by tracing his life from a common boy to an actor.

Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna and did his schooling from there. His high schooling happened in Delhi, and theatre and acting happened in Mumbai. The youngest of five siblings, Sushant has four elder sisters and as a little boy, was constantly bullied. And the same boy who once took orders from his sisters, today commands the film world this is what we call an achievement. With a smile on his face, he shares memories of his childhood…
